Sushi freaked me out. Something about raw fish and seaweed wrap made me extremely uncomfortable. I just never understood the craze. But I have never had the courage to try it, until I came to cherubs.
The girls on my floor could not wait to go to Sashimi Sashimi, a sushi place in town.
I could hear my friends making plans to get California rolls and spicy tuna, so I decided to go.
I walked into the tiny sushi place and did not know one roll from another. I allowed my friend to order for me, feeling as though I was putting my life in her hands.
The waitress served the rolls and sushi on a brown wood board. I was determined to try the food so many of my friends raved about. I looked at the raw fish and, on my friend’s recommendation of my friend, dipped it into the sauce and had a life changing experience. I loved sushi.
The rolls were a different story. The seaweed wrap still freaked me out. I could barely get through the spicy tuna roll. But I learned that salmon sushi was amazing. I don’t know how I have lived without it for so long.
With this sushi epiphany, I realized that the cherub program could change more than the way I write. It changed the way I eat.
